Vaccine Exemption by State

For a complete list of what
each state's requirements are, please visit
the National
Vaccine Information Center's state exemption
page.
Understanding
what each exemption is may not be real clear and
easy,
here is a brief description of what each one means, but for further
clarification, I suggest contacting your state for further details.
Philosophical
Exemption:- exemption to vaccination
based on
philosophical, personal or conscientiously held beliefs. Usually this
may apply if you have thoroughly educated yourself about both the
risks and benefits of vaccinations and you are making a choice you
feel is best for your child.
Religious
Exemption: The religious exemption is
intended for people
who hold a sincere religious belief opposing vaccination to the extent
that if the state forced vaccination, it would be an infringement on
their right to exercise their religious beliefs.
Medical
Exemptions: All
50 states allow medical exemption to
vaccination. Proof of medical exemption must take the form of a signed
statement by a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
that the administering of one or more vaccines would be detrimental to
the health of an individual.
*Some
states are much stricter than others, it is best to
contact your
state health officials if you are uncertain about the exemptions.
